Interim Senior Product Manager - Optimum (B2B SaaS / Telematics)

Optimum, one of France’s leading telematics companies, is looking for an experienced Interim Senior Product Manager to support the execution of the Optimum product roadmap.

This mission focuses on executing the defined Optimum roadmap, conducting discovery in areas requiring validation, and ensuring strong stakeholder alignment to deliver measurable product and business outcomes.

In addition to roadmap execution, the role will help strengthen product practices by introducing structured discovery, outcome-driven delivery, and clear prioritization processes.

The freelancer will operate as a hands-on senior product lead, working closely with engineering, design, and go-to-market teams to ensure structured delivery, clarity of priorities, and product impact.

Governance & Reporting

The Freelance Senior Product Manager reports to the Head of Product.

The Head of Product retains ownership of overall product strategy, portfolio positioning, major prioritization decisions and investment decisions.

The freelancer is responsible for executing the roadmap, driving discovery, collaborating closely with engineering and design on delivery, and leading operational product management and growth initiatives in alignment with the defined product strategy.

Strategic pivots and material trade-offs require alignment with the Head of Product.

Scope of Work

The engagement is structured around the following work packages:

Work Package 1: Roadmap Execution & Delivery

• Take ownership of driving and executing the defined Optimum product roadmap.
• Translate roadmap priorities into structured initiatives with clear scope and outcomes.
• Ensure backlog readiness, prioritization clarity, and alignment between product and engineering.
• Monitor progress, manage risks and dependencies, and adjust plans where necessary.
• Ensure delivery quality and consistency with strategic objectives.

Deliverable: Roadmap initiatives executed according to agreed timelines, with clear documentation and measurable outcomes.

Work Package 2: Product Discovery & Validation

• Conduct structured discovery for roadmap initiatives requiring further validation.
• Define hypotheses, validation criteria, and measurable success metrics.
• Engage directly with customers and internal stakeholders to gather insights.
• Translate discovery findings into documented product decisions and recommendations.

Deliverable: Validated product concepts and clear go/no-go recommendations aligned with business objectives.

Work Package 3: Stakeholder Alignment & Cross-Functional Enablement

• Align regularly with key stakeholders (Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Support, Onboarding, Leadership).
• Communicate roadmap priorities, trade-offs, and decisions transparently.
• Facilitate cross-functional alignment and resolve delivery blockers.
• Support go-to-market readiness for roadmap initiatives.

Deliverable: Clear stakeholder alignment, reduced friction, and smooth cross-functional collaboration.

Work Package 4: Operational Product Management

• Take over operational product activities required to execute the roadmap.
• Structure and maintain the product backlog and introduce consistent product management practices where needed.
• Ensure high-quality documentation (problem statements, requirements, acceptance criteria).
• Define, track, and report on success metrics.
• Provide regular updates on roadmap execution and product performance.

Deliverable: Operational stability, structured product processes, improved product discipline, and transparent reporting on progress and impact.

Work Package 5: Growth Execution & Adoption Acceleration

• Execute growth initiatives in alignment with the product and growth strategy defined by the Head of Product.
• Translate strategic growth priorities into structured initiatives and experiments integrated into the roadmap.
• Define hypotheses, instrumentation, and measurable KPIs for growth-related initiatives.
• Drive initiatives aimed at improving adoption, engagement, and monetization of Optimum features.
• Monitor performance against agreed KPIs and provide structured reporting with recommendations.

Deliverable: Executed growth initiatives with documented hypotheses, measurable impact, and structured performance reporting aligned with agreed strategic objectives.

Profile & Experience

• Extensive experience in Product Management, ideally in B2B SaaS environments.
• Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in cross-functional environments, working closely with engineering, design, and go-to-market teams to drive alignment and delivery.
• Strong hands-on experience conducting structured product discovery and engaging directly with customers to validate problems and solutions.
• Solid track record of translating customer insights into clear product decisions and high-impact initiatives.
• Strong data orientation, with experience defining success metrics, leveraging product analytics, and using quantitative insights to guide prioritization and evaluate impact.
• Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational execution.
• Strong stakeholder alignment and communication capabilities.
• Fluent in French and English (C1+).
• Experience in telematics, mobility, or data platforms is highly desirable.
